Neighborhood Watch

The Wheatley Heights/Dix Hills Neighborhood Watch committee that meets, every fourth Tuesday of the month at the Wyandanch/Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp at 7:30pm.  Exceptions are the months of March, June, September and December when the Civic Association holds its quarterly meeting.

The meeting features attendance by an officer representing the First Precinct C.O.P.E unit. That officer shares information with the group about what is happening in our area and the surrounding neighborhoods. He or she reviews statistical information on local criminal activity and what programs the First Precinct is incorporating into the neighborhood (or actively considering). The regular monthly meeting also gives citizens and opportunity to bring concerns to the attention of the police.

All residents are welcome to attend.

We are looking for volunteers to be Block Captains for their block. The responsibility of a Block Captain is to pass information concerning our neighborhood onto the C.O.P.E unit and to share what is happening with the other Block Captains at the monthly meeting.
